Thomsett, Contracting Officer, 704-299-5830 This construction project, known as ''Ambulatory Care Expansion'', shall include renovations and an addition to structures located at the VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC. Work includes new construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, plumbing, and asbestos abatement. Work also includes, but is not limited to, approximately 19,000 square feet of heavily renovated space and approximately 2,000 square feet of one story steel frame addition to Building 47; and approximately 8,500 square feet of heavily renovated space, and 7,000 square feet of space to receive new finishes in Building 15. The work in Building 47 is primarily construction of an outpatient clinical setting, and also includes separate administrative areas. All spaces at Building 47 include new sprinkler system protection and significant mechanical systems. Site improvements at Building 47 include a temporary wood walkway canopy, as well as minor landscaping and site restoration at the one story addition. Work at Building 15 is administrative space only. Sprinkler protection is not included at the Building 15 spaces and the existing mechanical system requires duct reconfiguration only. The estimated cost range is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000 and is subject to the availability of funds. SIC is 1542. All bidding material must be requested in writing to the above address and must be accompanied by a $50.00 refundable deposit for each set of specifications requested. All deposits must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or money order, and must be made payable to VA Medical Center.
