70 -- SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT SOL RFQ2-36387(LAS) DUE 080596 POC Contact Point: Lela Stawicki, (415)604-6968; Contracting Officer: Lela Stawicki, (415)604-6968 This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshod (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA). This notice is being issued as as Request for Quotes (RFQ). The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 90-39. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The Standard Industrial Classification and the size standard for this procurement are 7372 and $18.0 million respectively. NASA Ames Research Center intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Shana Corporation for the procurement of software maintenance coverage and technical support for one year for the following products: Informed Designer (6 licenses) and Informed Manager (604 concurrent- user licenses), together with Informed Number and Informed Revision Distributor for agency-wide use. Quoters shall provide the information required by FAR 212-1. The quoter shall complete and submit FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Represen tations and Certifications- Commercial Items. FAR 52.212- 4 and 52.212-5 are applicable. Under FAR 52.212.-5, the following clauses apply to this acquisition: 52.222-3, 52.233-3, 52.222-26, 52.222-35, 52.222-36, 52.222-37, 52.225-3, 52.225-21, 52.214-34, and 52.214-35. All quoters shall state in their quote their size status for this procurement. If the end product quoted is other than a domestic end product as defined in the clause entitled Buy American Act - Supplies, the quoter shall so state and list the country of origin. The quoter shall identify place of performance in their quote. The Defense Priorities and Allocations System rating is DO:A7. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing. Companies shall notify this office of their intent to submit a quote. Transmission by facsimile to (415)604-0177 or by Internet e-mail to lela_stawicki@qmgate.arc.nasa.gov is acceptable. Quotations are due by 5:00 P.M. on August 5, 1996 to the address specified above to the attention of Lela Stawicki. Selection and award will be made to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quoter. An ombudsman has been appointed to improve communications with interested parties.
