Bruno, CA 94099-0310 C -- ARCHITECT-ENGINEER SERVICES INDEFINITE QUANTITY CONTRACT FOR
REPAIR AND ALTERATION PROJECTS IN THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO,
CA SOL 052571-96-A-0077 DUE 082396 POC John J. Fraher, Purchasing
Specialist, or Grace Batesting, Contract Specialist Junior,
415/794-6336. The U. S. Postal Service intends to award one or more
indefinite quantity contract(s) (IQC) for architect/engineer services
for design and construction projects in the City and County of San
Francisco. Services to include, but not limited to: Design for
renovation, repair and alterations; and retail tenant-improvement
projects for existing and /or new spaces; building evaluation/surveys;
feasibility studies; cost estimating and A/E services during
construction. The contract(s) will be for two years, with individual
work orders being issued. Each work order will be negotiated as an
individual project. Work orders for any one project cannot exceed
$100,000.00. The total amount of work orders per twelve (12) months
period cannot exceed $250,000. The contract(s) may be renewed for three
one-year periods providing the total contract amount does not exceed
$1,000,000.00. Firms that have the qualifications to perform the
services are invited to submit a complete and current SF-255
''Architect/Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific
Project'', a complete and current SF-254 ''Architect/Engineer and
Related Services Questionnaire'', and a complete and current SF-254 for
each of their consultants to the office shown above not later than the
date shown above. The selection process will be conducted by using the
information contained in the submitted SF-254's and F-255's. Interested
firms with more than one office must indicate on their SF-255 the
staffing composition of the office in which the work will be performed.
The primary factors for consideration are: 1) Local firms (within 25
miles of San Francisco, California) licensed by the State of
California. A/E firms will be considered local only if their sole
office is in the local geographical area or they have a local branch
office and all the architectural design, coordination and project
management will be performed in that office. 2) Prime firm must have a
minimum of three registered architects and a minimum total staff of
six. The prime firm or consultants must have a minimum of 2 registered
structural engineers, 2 registered civil engineers, 2 registered
mechanical engineers, and 2 registered electrical engineers. 3) Current
254 and 255. Other factors for consideration are: 1) Firm's commitment
to CADD design services. 2) Firm established at least three years and
demonstrate experience for renovation, repair and alteration type
projects; 3) Experience of consultants (If consultants are proposed,
firm must demonstrate working experience with them on at least 2
projects in the past 5 years). 4) Demonstrate experience with urban
/metropolitan renovation projects in San Francisco Bay Area. 5)
Favorable client references. 6) Firm's capacity and current workload.
7) Previous experience with indefinite-quantity contracts. Consultants
do not have a geographical location restriction. The contract contains
a requirement for firms to provide evidence of current errors and
omissions coverage for at least $200,000.00 per claim. It is prohibited
to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to any person
or firm contingent upon or resulting from award of a contract for
these services. No other general notification for these services will
be made. Submittals will not be retained or returned. You are
encouraged to send your submittals via the U. S. Postal Service. Please
note the above solicitation number on the outside of your submittal.
