D -- AUTOMATED TOOLS TO ASSIST IN A CONVERSION OF COBOL PROGRAMS FROM A UNISYS-A17 TO AN IBM 3090-200J SOL 1450-K00-96-011 DUE 072996 POC Sharon Marianito, Contract Specialist, 505/248-5777 or 5778, Richard Namm, Program/Technical contact 505/248-7172. The Office of Information Resources Management (OIRM) of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is seeking information on automated tools to assist in a conversion of COBOL programs from a UNISYS A-17 to an IBM 3090-200J. The IBM runs under MVS/ESA Version 3, with CICS/ESA Version 3, and ISPF Version 3 and TSO/E Version 2. The UNISYS COBOL Programs have been compiled in COBOL 68. The target COBOL for the IBM 3090 is OS/VS COBOL and Library Version 1. The data on the Unisys A17 is in DMSII, Indexed, and sequential data structure. The data conversion will be to ADABAS, Version 5. Other ADABAS products that may be used are Natural Version 2, Predict Version 3, Supernatural Version 3 and Natural Advanced Facility Version 2. Tools sought would: A. Clean up the UNISYS COBOL to eliminate dead and redundant code; B. Cross compile UNISYS COBOL to IBM COBOL; C. Analyze UNISYS Data Bases to detect and list duplicate records if any; D. Convert UNISYS Data Bases to ADABAS; E. Logically re-sequence and renumber the IBM COBOL Source Code for readability and ease of maintenance; F. Assist in the development of IBM JCL for compilation, testing, and production; G. Any other tool to assist BIA in the conversion process. In addition to ''Glossies'' describing vendor products, prospective vendors should describe the degree of technical support provided to assist in operation of the tools and to answer questions regarding operation or interpretation of output. Vendors should list prices and conditions such as any limitation on use or license limitations if any.
