CZECH REPUBLIC: FOODS AND TOBACCO PRODUCTS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 96.213. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: CZECH REPUBLIC. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Draft Law on Foods and Tobacco Products and on Amendments to Several Laws (41 pages, available in English). 6. Description of content: The draft Law lays down the requirements for foods and tobacco products and the responsibilities of producers and other entrepreneurs in the production and placing foods and tobacco products on the market. It also specifies condition for the State supervision of this Law. Draft Law, in its Part One includes a/o the following Articles: Responsibilities of the Producers; Irradiation of Foods; Food Packaging; Food Labelling; Placing the Food on the Market; Tobacco Products; Transportation of Foods and Tobacco Products; State Supervision; Penalties; Powers; Requirements laid down by Ministry of Health. Part Two contains the amendments to the following Acts: - Act 63/1986 Coll., on the Czech Food Inspection; - Act 64/1986 Coll., on the Czech Trade Inspection, in the wording of Act 240/1992 Coll.; - Act 87/1987 Coll., on Veterinary Care, in the wording of Acts 239/1991 Coll., and 437/1991 Coll.; - Act 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection, in the wording of Acts 217/1993 Coll., and 104/1995 Coll. 7.
