Maintenance Industry Days. The Air Force is seeking information related
to commercial approaches to depot-level repairs for the Pratt & Whitney
F117 engine (PW 2040 derivative) which powers the C-17 aircraft. The
F117 Program Office will be holding Industry Day sessions in July and
August 1996 to provide qualified prospective vendors an opportunity to
present their approaches for depot-level repairs on the F117 engine.
Qualified vendors are those interested parties who are Federal Aviation
Regulation 145 rated for gas turbine engines and are approved by the
FAA for PW2000 series engines and/or F117 engines on their operating
specifications, or who can demonstrate the capabilities to obtain such
qualifications prior to April 1997. Those vendors having applicable
interest, qualifications, capability, and experience must submit
documentation that demonstrates their historical ability to perform
depot-level repairs on PW 2000 series engines. Interested vendors shall
restrict the size of their response to 20 briefing charts. Due to time
constraints, presentations and discussions shall be limited to three
hours per vendor. The government does not intend to award a contract on
the basis of information submitted nor otherwise pay for information
solicited through this announcement. We request that none of the
information provided be proprietary in nature. Interested parties

days after publication of this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed
to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the
proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the
Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or
contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government
personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict
confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not
participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection
process. Interested parties are invited to call Mr. Daniel L. Kugel at
(513) 255-3855. The Ombudsman should only be contacted with issues or
problems that have previously brought to the attention of the
contracting officer and could not be satisfactorily resolved at that
