The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Construct a single three story dormitory building of 136 rooms and approximately 57,000 square feet. Exterior materials and finishes include brick with brick reveal banding and precast stone trim, factory finished standing seam metal roof, and anodized window frames with insulated glazing. Interior materials and finishes include painted gypsum board and vinyl wallcovering, porcelain tile, carpet, raised rubber dot flooring, and 2 x 2 acoustical ceiling tile. Structural work consists of concrete strip footings and spread footings, steel joist and steel deck roof system with rolled structural steel shapes, composite steel deck with concrete fill on steel joists floor system, and C.M.U. walls at various locations for lateral load resistance. HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and communications work will required. Site work includes grading, landscaping, rigid and flexible pavements, and new baseball field (includes fencing, backstop, night lighting, field and bleacher area, concrete block dugouts, water connections and player benches). The estimated construction cost of this project is between $7,500,000 and $10,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 600 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a August 15, 1996. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to 1 (one) per firm (additional copies will be the responsibility of the requestor).
