Construction contract for the expansion of a Postal Service Battery Room. The work consists of providing all material and labor to expand a 2600 square foot, single story concrete masonry unit building to house battery charging and maintenance equipment, located adjacent to the loading dock and container repair facility at the USPS Processing and Distribution Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The building is equipped with an explosion proof electrical system, evaporative coolers, and sprinkler system. Exterior walls are split-faced, fluted concrete masonry units with metal panels above to match the adjacent container building. Construction cost range is $300,000 to $370,000. Completion time is 180 days from Notice to Proceed. Evaluation criteria will be Price, Experience-minimum of five (5) years in the industry and Past Performance. A 20% Proposal Bond will be required with submittals. Solicitation packages will be available on or about July 23, 1996.
