Grabowski, Contracting Officer (803) 776-4000 ext. 6856 Provide all necessary materials, tools, labor, permits, licenses, and supervision to UPGRADE MEDICAL AIR SYSTEM, Building 100, Project 544-96-106, at the WJBD VA Medical Center, Columbia, SC in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work includes, but is not limited to, bringing the medical air system into compliance with NFPA 99 and other applicable standards, specifications and criteria for breathing air. The project shall include the installation of two oil-free medical air compressors in the main hospital, providing an air purification system and relocating the air intake for the medical air system per NFPA 99 requirements. The system shall be compatible with the existing energy management system to provide for remote alarms in the Engineering Control Center (ECC). The electrical system is 480V, three (3) phase, and is tied into the emergency power system. Installation shall include testing and certification requirements during and after construction, training, warranty period, spare parts list and spare parts. Construction phasing which minimizes disruptions in the medical air system during installation, testing and certification shall be required. Estimated construction cost is $25,000 - $100,000. Issue date is on or about 8/1/96. A site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, August 14, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. All bidders are urged and expected to attend. Request for bid documents must be in writing to the Contracting Officer (90C), WJBD VA Medical Center, Columbia, SC 29209. A $25.00 bid deposit is required in the form of a Certified Check or Money Order. Certified check or money order is to be made payable to the Department of Veterans Affairs (90C) and must include solicitation number IFB 544-038-96. Requests for solicitations should be received no later than 10 days from date of this notice. Availability of this solicitation is limited, and will be issued on a first come first served basis.
