The purpose of this effort is to provide a Hierarchical File Storage System (HFSS) for the Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) Data center which is capable of non-temporary storage and retention of files from existing and planned client computer systems, computational/file servers, scientific visualization workstations, video production system, and support computer systems in the DSWA Data Center. One HFSS shall be provided. There are approximately 4 terabytes of data in one million files that DSWA currently owns, new data is expected to grow at a rate of approximately 2 terabytes per year. The contractor shall provide hardware, software, system integration, maintenance, and training to result in a fully functional and operational HFSS.
