equipment necessary to perform routine Drydock Repairs to the USCGC
HUDSON (WLIC-801). The work which may be performed includes but may not
be limited to the following minimum items: 1. Renew shell plating, deck
plating & framing. 2. Renew ceiling angles. 3. Preserve spuds and
spudwells. 4. Remove, inspect and reinstall propellers. 5. Clean and
Test grid coolers. 6. Preserve transducer hull rings and renew the
depth indicating transducers. 7. Overhaul, renew and test valves. 8.
Inspect and test air receivers and relief valves. 9. Install Gaylord
Hood Fire Protection System. 10. Rudder assembly removal, inspection
and reinstallation. 11. Overhaul and test chain stoppers. 12. Inspect
various deck fittings. 13. Preserve construction deck. 14. Clean and
inspect all diesel tanks. 15. Remove and dispose fuel oil (2,000
gallons). 16. Preserve underwater body. 17. Clean and inspect voids and
ballast tanks. 18. Clean, inspect and disinfect all potable water
tanks. 19. Renew corrosion preventive zinc anodes. 20. Provide
temporary berthing (over 50 statutory miles). 21. Provide temporary
berthing (50 statutory miles or less). 22. Temporary logistics. 23.
Routine drydocking. The proposed contract will also contain indefinite
items including but not limited to: 1. Welding repairs. 2. Spudwell
liner renewal. 3. Remove, inspect, and reinstall propeller shaft. 4.
Renew shaft covering. 5. Renew water-lubricated shaft bearings. 6.
Renew shaft sleeves. 7. Inspect Government-furnished propeller. 8.
Perform minor repairs and reconditioning of propeller. 9. Overhaul,
renew, and test valves. 10. Hydraulic cylinder overhaul. 11. Clean and
inspect diesel fuel tanks. 12. Blast clean diesel fuel tanks. 13.
Preserve underwater body. 14. Clean and inspect voids and ballast
tanks. 15. Preserve voids and ballast tanks. 16. Clean, inspect and
disinfect potable water tanks. 17. Preserve potable water tanks. 18.
Provide temporary messing. 19. Additional temporary berthing. 20.
Ultrasonic testing. 21. Additional temporary logistics. USCGC HUDSON'S
homepier is Miami Beach, FL. USCGC HUDSON's availability is scheduled
for on or about 21 OCTOBER 1996. The performance period is forty-two
(42) calendar days. Large and small businesses are encouraged to submit
bids. The cutter's availability will be restricted from Tampa, FL to
Philadelphia, PA via Intra Coastal Waterways. There is no open water
transits. Solicitation (IFB) is anticipated to be issued on or about
August 06, 1996. There will be a non-refundable charge of $100.00
required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable
to the United States Coast Guard for requested drawings and
publications. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to
$500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond
