Y -- CONSTRUCTION, REPAIR AND OVERLAY OF POWDER MILL ROAD, BELTSVILLE AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH CENTER, BELTSVILLE, MARYLAND SOL 8169-3K15-96 DUE 091796 POC Contracting Officer, Joan Baker, 301-344-0245 Y-Pre-Solicitation Notice-The contractor shall provide material, labor, equipment, and supervision, etc., necessary to repair and overlay Powder Mill Road from Station 6+30 East of MD 295 (Baltimore/Washington Parkway) to Station 139+00 at the Maryland Route 197 intersection, Beltsville/Laurel, Maryland. Major features of the work to be performed are: Reconstruction of 1.5 miles of roadway; left turn by-pass lanes; full depth patching; wedge and leveling course; surface and base course overlay; signing and pavement markings; and signal work. All required testing on this project, i.e., on-site density tests, HMA samples testing, etc., will be the responsibility of the contractor. The tests shall meet MSHA standards and shall be certified by a registered Maryland Professional Engineer. Testing of materials will not be a separate pay item but will be incidental to other pay items listed on the project. The total estimated cost of construction for this project is between $3,000,000 and $5,000,000. Time for completion of the work will be 365 calendar days from date of issuance of Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid meeting is tentatively scheduled for August 27, 1996, at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center. Sets of plans and specifications will be available for a NONREFUNDABLE charge of $75 (check or money order) made payable to USDA, Agricultural Research Service. A written request, along with the check or money order, shall be submitted to KCI Technologies, Inc.; 10 North Park Drive; Hunt Valley, Maryland 21033-1888, Attention: Len Zembas. Supply is limited and will be made on a first-come-first-served basis. Approximately 60 sets will be made available.
