Y -- RAIL YARD UPGRADE Sol FSC595 Due 091996 Contact: John Mercer, (513) 648-5160 The Fernald Environmental Restoration Management Corporation (FERMCO), is scheduled to release an Invitation to Bid (IFB) on or about August 22, 1996 for the North Rail Yard Upgrade Project at the Department of Energy's Fernald Environmental Management Project (FEMP) in Fernald, Hamilton County, Ohio. This project requires removal of approximately 660 linear feet of existing rail track work for possible reuse. Also, the subcontractor is to furnish and install approximately 17,250 linear feet of new rail track work (class 1 relay rail). The new rail installation includes rail, ties, and all appurtances except the ballast which shall be installed by others prior to the start of the project. In addition, there are four (4) road crossings to install. Approximately one-half of the work is to be performed in a radiologically controlled area.
