The process will include removal of the existing cement slabs, reconnect the underground main, remove & reinstall the back flow systems, install a government furnished meter in each system. The system must be installed using compatible types of materials used in the initial installation. Due to the interruption of water service, each back flow system shall be relocated and in full operation prior to the other system being removed. All work shall be accomplished between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating with the City of Milan to close the city water valves. All materials used in installation shall be thoroughly swabbed with a chlorine solution. The system shall be flushed prior to reopening for service. The current wage rates will prevail for this project. There will be a site visit at the Institution on Tuesday, July 30, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. Bids will be due on Tuesday, August 6, 1996 by the close of business.
