the Interior, Minerals Management Service (MMS), requires a contractor
to conduct a study entitled ''The Social and Economic Consequences of
Onshore, OCS-Related Activities in Coastal Alabama''. The RFP, which we
hope to issue approximately fifteen (15) days following publication of
this notice, will contain specific instructions regarding proposal
preparation, due dates, etc.; dates specified in the RFP will override
any conflicting dates contained herein. The study will establish a
baseline socioeconomic description of coastal Alabama communities, and
develop a model for the projection of possible socioeconomic
consequences to fisheries, tourism etc. of limited onshore support
activities if oil and gas exploration and/or development were to ensue
in the offshore Eastern Gulf of Mexico region. A copy of the RFP may
