The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis a specific make and model of a Q-Switched, Diode-Pumped ND: YAG SLAB Laser manufactured by Cutting Edge Optronics, model Slabmaster 308GLC. The Photonic Systems branch is developing a laser ranging system to improve the probability of detection of targets. The system is currently under construction and has imposed very specific requirements upon the source laser in order to meet its design goals. This laser will be the primary source for the SSPD project the SSPD system design imposes specific requirements upon the source laser's repetition rate, wavelength, pulse width and peak power. Quantity is one (1) each. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. All responsible sources shall provide the manufacturer's specifications with their fax quote which shall be considered by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, VA 22448.
