The Federal Correctional Institution, Marianna, Florida is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant. All applicants must have completed a Certified Nursing Assistant training program and provide verification of credentials. The contractor shall provide proof of malpractice insurance. Contractor duties will be as follows: Administering medications to patients as prescribed by the physician, dentist and physician assistants (PA's). Initiating and maintaining patient medical records, charting doctor's orders and performing patient education. Taking and recording vital signs of patients. Seating and prepping patients for examinations. Performing dressing changes and cast removals. Assisting with collection of specimens for laboratory analysis and packaging specimens for shipment to reference laboratory. Perform venipuncture upon completion of in-house training. Perform laboratory tests generally considered to be doctors office procedures, i.e. Dip-stix urine and STAT glucose tests using a glucometer. Maintaining laboratory records. Assist the physician and PA's with procedures such as minor surgery and suturing lacerations and other emergency treatment. Only written requests for solicitation packages will be considered. The estimated issuance date for the solicitation is August 14, 1996, with an estimated receipt of bids date of September 12, 1996.
