65 -- RENOVATION OF ANIMALS WATERING SYSTEM SOL N6422396RC00104. Due 080596. POC Contracting Officer Mary A Lutton, 301/295-6491. Renovation of animal watering system, includes upgrading, repairing and adding to the existing animal watering system located at the Naval Medical Research Laboratory, Bethesda MD. Work to include: 1. Renovation work on the first floor: A. Replace Pressure Reducing Station in room #113 with new Pressure Reducing Station. B. Replace 15 ft section of CPVC Pipe in Room #113, C. Repair 8 ft section of CPVC Pipe in Room #127 and D. Install Pressure Reducing Station in Room #112. Install CPVC pipe with (10) Interconnect Stations each equipped with stainless steel disconnect couplings. 2. Renovation work on the Basement Floor: A. Replace Pressure Reducing Station in Room #2. B. Replace CPVC Pipe with (10) Interconnect Stations each equipped with a poly hose for stainless steel quick disconnect coupling. C. Replace Pressure Reducing Station in Room #3B. D. Remove and replace CPVC Pipe with (9) Interconnect Stations each with stainless steel quick disconnect couplings. All CPVC piping and mounting hardware included. (Room #3B). E. Remove and replace Pressure Reducing Station in Room #5 with (8) Interconnect Stations each equipped with a poly hose with stainless steel quick disconnect couplings. All CPVC piping and mounting hardware shall be included. F. Replace Pressure Reducing Station in Room #7. Replace CPVC pipe in room #7. G. Replace Pressure Reducing Station in Room #9. Replace 7 ft section of CPVC piping. H. Install Pressure Reducing Station in room #11. Install CPVC piping with (10) Interconnect Stations with stainless steel quick disconnect couplings. All CPVC piping and mounting hardware will be included. Requirements: Interconnect Stations each equipped with recoil hose with stainless steel quick disconnect couplings. This includes all wall-mounted piping and fittings, 1/2'' plastic stand-offs and stainless steel mounting hardware. Manual Flush Valves at terminal end of distribution system with an extension of the CPVC piping to sink within the animal room, or as designated. Special Requirements: Manifolds must be 1/2'' 316 grade stainless steel pipes. All components must be ``electro-polished'' and ``passivated''. This equipment stands up to acidified or chlorinated water. All bedding proof water ``Valves'' must be ``electro-polished''. Requirements of each pressure reducing station include: must have check valves on the low side - prevents a backflow, silicone rubber inside the regulator, stainless steel components inside the pressure station and all stainless steel parts to be ``electro-polished''. This precludes any reaction with chlorine. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. This is a Simplified Acquisition procurement. (204)
