The Fleet Industrial and Supply Center (FISC), Phila. intends to procure on a Sole Source basis, an Olympus PK-7200 Blood Analyzer, which is FDA-approved, automated unit used to determine ABO Group /RH type from anticoagulated blood. The requirement covers delivery, installation and related training for two technicians. A Firm Fixed Price type contract is anticipated. Under the authority of FAR 6.302, the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only Olympus for this unit. Interested parties may identify their capability to provide a unit that is equivalent to the Olympus PK-7200. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for CIs prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
