Revenue Service intends to issue Request for Quotations (RFQ)
IRS-96-MS-049 for 60 Pentium 100 microcomputers. This RFQ is for
purchase of commercial items utilizing FAR Part 12 policies and
procedures. The SIC is 3571. The applicable size standards are:
manufacturers -- 1,000 employees, non-manufacturers -- 500 employees.
The RFQ will be issued on or about August 13, 1996. Copies of the RFQ
will be provided to the first 20 interested businesses faxing a request
to (214) 308-1928, attention Linda Green. Requests for the RFQ must
include company name, complete address, contact person and extension
number, and fax number. Incomplete requests will not be honored.
Evaluation of offers will be based on price and quality of components.
Award will be made to the contractor whose offer conforms to the RFQ
requirements and is determined to be the most advantageous to the
Government, price and technical quality considered. The following
system specifications are required to meet the minimum needs of the
Government: Pentium 100 Microcomputers - 1) Mother Board with Trident
chip set and on-board PS2 port, 16550 I/O output, 256k pipeline cache
upgradable to 512k, 72 pin memory configuration upgradable to 128 MB
RAM, 4/PCI and 4/ISA slots, bios programmed for the years 2000+, 2)
Intel or AMD 100MHz pentium processor chip, 3) mini tower case with
minimum 230 watt power supply, 4) one 16 MB 72-pin RAM chip, 60ns, 5)
1 GB high speed, mode 4 IDE hard drive ( prefer Maxtor, Western
Digital, or Fujitsu), 6) 1.44 MB floppy drive, 7) 104 Windows 95
keyboard, 8) 2 MB PCI MPEG video card with 64-bit DRAM to support 1280
x 1024, 256K color, 9) PS2 mouse (prefer Microsoft, Logitech, or
Mitsumi), 10) 17'' .28 Non-interlaced color VGA monitor with low
radiation and 100MHz refresh rate, 11) I/O controller on mother board
with 2 high speed com ports, 1 lpt port, and floppy/IDE controller, 12)
Windows NT Workstation 3.51 operating system (license only) loaded and
configured, 13) one year seller's warranty on all parts and labor. In
addition to the above, 6X CDROM drives (prefer Sony or Toshiba),
16-bit sound cards compatible with Windows NT, Windows 95, and OS2
Warp, and amplified 15 watt shielded speakers with AC adapter are
required in 13 of the 60 systems. All quotes must be FOB destination:
