COMMEMTS AND SOLICITATION. POC J.Garforth, Contracting Officer,

DC 20536. This NOTICE is a combined SOURCES SOUGHT for comments and a
NOTICE of an RFP. NO OTHER NOTICE WILL BE ISSUED. The Immigration and
Naturalization Service (INS) invites industry comments on the proposed
approach for the acquistion of support services for computer
facilities operation and hardware maintenance support for INS. The
purpose of the Field Office Support and Hardware Manitenance (FOS/HM)
acquistion is to provide help desk and user support services,
operations and technical support services including maintenance
services for INS Federal Information Processing (FIP) resources
worldwide. The INS requires end-to-end support across the INS'
information Technology (IT) infrastructure that includes wide area
networks (WANs), local area networks (LANs), communication equipment,
mainframes, minicomputers and other mid-tier (client server) platforms,
work stations and associtated peripherals. A draft solicitation
comprised of Sections B,C,L, and M will be issued in August 1996 for
industry comments. All comments or questions concerning the draft must
be received in this office no latter than 15 calendar days after the
release of this draft. The INS will not respond in writing to comments
received nor will it release any comments to industry. The INS will
not incur any liability for nor will it pay any cost incurred in
responding to this request for comments. This draft may be requested by
fax or by letter, no telephone inquires or request will be accepted.
