Ingwersen, (713) 483-4177 NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 1 each Pulse Code Modulation Encoder Unit consisting of the following: 486, 50 MHz CPU processor with math co-processor; 1 analog board with interconnectivity to existing XCRV Multiplexer Unit; 2 Pulse Code Modulation Encoder/Decoder Modules with up to 2 Mbps I/O capability; +5 Vdc excitation power source; +18 V to +32 V input power; Integration testing and demonstration of unit capability to encode 2 serial input (RS232) data streams and one multiplexed analog input data set into redundant PCM output data streams; power on self testing capability. NASA/JSC intends to purchase from Systems Interface Software, Inc. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA). Note: This procurement is sole-source based on system compatability requirements. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication date of this synopsis to submit in writing their qualifications/ capabilities in the critical areas mentioned above. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract, on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
