The Library of Congress intends to issue a delivery order against an exsisting Basic Ordering Agreement to renew a subscription with Desktop Data for the continued use and access to their service by the Social Security Administration, Baltimore, MD. Desktop Data offers ''NewsEdge'' which is a personal computer based information gateway service that captures and combines different news wire services delivered by X.25 telephone lines, FM broadcast or satellite transmission, alerts users to important incoming stories that match multiple intrest profiles created by the user, organizes the news on the user's PC for viewing and searching, and operates in the background on standalone or LAN based PCs, constantly delivering news to the user without tying up the PC.
