INTERESTED IN THE DESIGN/BUILD OF A US POSTAL SERVICE-OWNED MAIN POST
OFFICE, HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA SOL 232098-96-A-0221. Due 090396. Contact

610-521-5850, fax 610-521-5893. The scope of work is to complete
design/engineering from 30% complete to 100% and to construct an
approximately 20,765 square foot new main post office building on a 5
acre site. Work includes all a retail store, workroom, loading dock and
equipment, support areas and covered carrier parking. The building will
be constructed using a steel frame, cavity masonry walls, concrete slab
on grade, four ply built-up roof system, standing seam metal roof at
building entry and open loading areas, metal stud and gypsum board
interior partitions and acoustical ceilings. Complete plumbing, HVAC
and electrical systems will include roof top units, power, lighting and
alarm systems, two security camera systems, and fully sprinkled and
fire protection systems as required by local code and USPS
requirements. Also included in the development of the 5 acre site is
parking for customers, employees, postal vehicles, loading dock
maneuvering area, mail drop box area and complete landscaping, fencing
and signage, site development including paying/obtaining all permits,
tap connections and utility connections/development. Completion time
for the above work is within 300 days. To be considered responsive the
contractor/offeror must have a minimum of 5 years as a general
contractor and previous design build experience. Other requirements
include the following: (1) Successful completion and favorable
references for similar projects; (2) Financial stability. The proposals
will be evaluated in the areas listed in descending order of
importance: (1) cost/price, (2) proposed schedule for design and
construction, (3) previous experience; (4) references, (5) financial
stability. The award will be made on the offer determined to be in the
best interest of the Postal Service. Proposals are due by 4:00 pm on
Tuesday, September 3, 1996. The package will be available on or about
August 2, 1996 from the Architect-Engineer, Joseph A Palombit, Maida
Engineering, Inc, at a cost of $85.00 per package, non-refundable. Make

any one offer, or relative standing of the offer will not be disclosed
to anyone except those postal personnel whose official duties require
