997-6241. Design/Construct an approx. 19,650 sq. ft. Customer Service
Postal Facility. A drawing, specification and disk package will be
furnished to the selected design/build team. The scope work is to
complete design/engineering from 30% complete to 100% and to construct
a new approximately 15,556 sq. ft. main post office building on a 3.00
acre site. Work includes a retail store, workroom, loading dock and
equipment, support areas, and covered carrier parking. The building
will be constructed using a steel frame, cavity masonry walls, concrete
slab on grade, four ply built-up roof system, standing seam metal roofs
at building entry and open loading areas metal stud and gypsum board
interior partitions and acoustical ceilings. Complete plumbing, HVAC
and electrical systems will include roof top units, power, lighting,
and alarm systems, two security camera systems, and fully sprinkled and
fire protection systems as required by local code and USPS
requirements. Also included in the development of the 3.00 acre site is
parking for customers, =30 cars, employees =35 cars, postal vehicles
=24 cars, loading dock maneuvering area, mail drop box area and
complete landscaping, fencing and signage, site development includes
paying/obtaining all permits, tap connections and utility
connections/development. The estimated price range is between
$1,700,000.00 and $2,300,000.00 with completion within 300 calendar
days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. To be considered
responsive the contractor/proposer must have a minimum of 5 years as a
general contractor and previous design build experience. Other
requirements include the following: (1) Successful completion and
favorable references for similar projects; (2) Financial stability. The
proposals will be evaluated in the areas listed in descending order of
importance: (1) cost/price, (2) proposed schedule for design and
construction, (3) previous experience, (4) references, (5) financial
stability and the award will be made on the offer determined to be in
the best interest of the Postal Service. Proposals are due by 4:00 PM
on September 03, 1996. Plans and specifications will be available on or
about August 02, 1996 at a cost of $80.00 per set, Non-Refundable. Make
