This CBD announcement constitutes a Notice of Contract Action for the purpose of notifying small businesses of potential subcontracting opportunities. The F-15 System Program Office (ASC/VF) at HQ Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, proposes to award a contract to McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Corporation, St. Louis, MO, in the 2nd quarter of FY97, pursuant to the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (10U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) -Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements), for the retrofitting effort of the Embedded Global Positioning System (GPS)/Inertial Navigation System (INS) (EGI) program for the F-15 C/D/E aircraft. The basic effort will include all recurring/non-recurring efforts for producing Group A kits, packaging, and shipping of the kit, and supporting of depot teams for the retrofit. A total of approximately 600 kits will be produced with delivery starting approximately September 1997 and continuing through approximately September 2002. An Ombudsman has been established for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an offeror prefers not to use established channels to communicate his/her concern during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Potential offerors should use established channels to request information, pose questions and voice concerns before resorting to use of the Ombudsman.
