44135 A -- A NOVEL INTEGRATED COMPUTATIONAL/EXPERIMENTAL FLUID DYNAMICS
(CFD) AND TEST PROGRAM FOR HYPERSONIC INLETS POC Wayne Girard,
Contracting Officer, (216) 433-2799, MS 500-305 or Internet E-Mail:
Wayne.Girard@lerc.nasa.gov NASA Lewis Research Center has received an
Unsolicited Proposal from Modern Technologies Corporation. This company
has offered NASA a novel integration of computational/experimental
fluid dynamics techniques for the development of a design method
applicable to inlets for hypersonic flight applications. They will
support NASA's hypersonic research program by applying 2-D CFD for
initial screening, followed by 3-D CFD supported by experimental
verification to design a fully operational hypersonic inlet. The period
of performance of the proposed work is from the last quarter of GFY 96
up to and including GFY 2001. The work is divided into a Phase 1
(calendar year '96) and Phase 2 (starting the beginning of calendar
year 97, and ending in 2001). Since the proposal has already been
received, no solicitation is being developed. Pursuant to FAR 15.506,
copies of Modern Technologies Corporation Proposal are not available
from the Government. It is anticipated that a NASA color printer would
be required to print the detailed CFD results and that time on the
NASA computer would be provided. This notice is published for
information, only. Justification to permit contracting with Modern
Technologies Corporation has been prepared using citation 10 USC
2304(c)(1) as its authority. See Note 22 (0211) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0006 19960730\A-0006.SOL)
