A. Courtney, Contracting Officer, (606) 253-8885. The Federal Bureau of
Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution, Memphis, TN, has a
requirement for a Licensed and Board Certified Ophthalmologist. The
contractor will provide diagnostic and treatment recommendations of
programs in the field of Ophthalmology for inmate patients referred by
Medical Staff, as well as other inherent functions. Due to the nature
of this contract, all individuals working within the institution will
be required to submit to Security Clearances. This will be a
competitive procurement with award being made to the offeror determined
to be in the best interest of the Government, price and other factors
considered. These other factors include Past Performance and Technical.
Services will be required primarily between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, but
not exclusively, with an estimated 8 sessions per month (1 sessions =
1 hour), for an estimated 96 sessions per year. The base year of the
contract shall run for 12 months from the date of award, with four (4)
one year option periods for renewal. It is anticipated solicitations
will be mailed approximately August 15, 1996 with an approximate due
date of September 12, 1996. It is anticipated this will result in a
Firm-Fixed Price, Requirements type contract. All responsible sources
may submit an offer which may be conside award. No collect calls will
