Johnson, Contracting Officer This project is for the construction of two flood water retarding structures in the Big Sandy Creek Watershed, Sites 14A and 27. They consist of rolled compacted earth fill embankments, open channel emergency spillways, and precast concrete principal spillway conduit with concrete inlet towers and concrete outlet works. Major items of work: Site 14A - 31,740 cu yds of compacted jor items of work: Siearth fill, 67,950 cu yds of both common and unclassified excavation, 39.8 cu yds of concrete, 240 lin ft of 18 inch concrete pressure pipe, the installation of 600 lin ft of soil-bentonite slurry trench, and the placement of 714 cu yds of graded drain fill. Site 27 - 107,000 cu yds of compacted earth fill, 15,300 cu yds of both common and unclassified excavation, 49.7 cu yds of concrete, 210 lin ft of 24 inch concrete pressure pipe, the installation of 800 lin ft of soil-bentonite slurry trench, the installation of a well and/or well point system, and the placement on of a well and/or weof 2,165 cu yds of graded drain fill.
