Eglin AFB has a requirement to Install a Hoist System in Bldg 1352, Eglin AFB, FL. A presolicitation notice was previously sent. The work under this contract consists of removing an existing 1000 lb capacity monorail system which is suspended from the bottom of the roof truss system and disconnecting its controls and electrical power. Some hot water heating system unit heaters and their associated piping, some fire sprinkler system piping, and some electrical circuits in conduit are to be relocated upwards to that they are above or near the bottom of the roof trusses. Two bridge cranes, one with a 5000 lb capacity hoist and one with 2 each 2500 lb capacity hoists, are to be furnished and installed by the contractor. The structural system to carry these cranes and their loads is to be designed by the crane manufacturer and provided by the contractor. The contractor is to contract the structural system within the bay area of the building, provide the required electrical and control circuits, and load test the systems on completion of the construction phase. Contract will be for a period of 45 calendar days. Bid opening date of 16 August 96 is only an estimated date. The estimated value of the project ranges between $250,000 and $500,000. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. Firms responding should indicate if they are a small business.
