Troia, Contracting Officer, SEA 02423, (703) 602-0200. SOURCES SOUGHT
- SHIPBOARD AUTOMATIC LIQUID AGENT DETECTOR (SALAD) The Naval Sea
Systems Command has a planned requirement for a shipboard liquid
chemical agent detector. SALAD is intended to be a fixed point
detection system used to detect and alarm for liquid chemical agent
contamination of the ship's exterior and provide an automatic, remote
indicating, and timely detection system to increase personnel
survivability in the event of a liquid agent attack. The system shall
respond to nerve (G,V) and blister (H) chemical warfare agents. An
important operational feature shall be that it monitors the ship's
exterior in real time and detects and differentiates these agents at
low concentrations with a minimum response to alarm in less than 60
seconds. The Naval Sea Systems Command would like to receive
information regarding the availability of commercial and
non-developmental items and/or industry capability to produce these
detectors. Responses to the above are requested by 30 August 1996 and
shall be addressed to Naval Sea Systems Command, ATTN: SEA 03Z7, Mr. W.
Noyes, 2531 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA 22242-5160. This
announcement does not constitute an Invitation for Bid, a Request for
Proposal, or commitment of any kind. Although there will be no
reimbursement or compensation provided for responding to this
announcement, the cognizant contracting officer, Mr. Pete Troia, NAVSEA
02423, (703) 602-0200, does appreciate any responses provided. ??
