70 -- HELP-DESK SOFTWARE SOL RFQ 96-102 DUE 082996 POC Point of Contact, Michael Kelley, 304-480-6609, Contracting Officer, Wayne Jeffers, 304-480-6465. The Bureau of the Public Debt (PD) will issue a commercial item solicitation for the purpose of acquiring help-desk software and maintenance for use in a customer-oriented data processing environment. The product(s) acquired must be compatible with PD's current environment which includes microcomputers, an Ethernet local area network running Novell NetWare, and an Amdahl 5990 Model 1400 CPU with an MVS/ESA operating system. The typical PC configuration on which the software will be used includes: a Dell Model 433L with an 83 MHz Pentium Processor upgrade and 16 MB of RAM. A detailed listing of all requirements will be enumerated in the Request For Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation will result in a single contract award for a systems life of six years. Requests for the solicitation must be made in writing. Telephonic requests will not be accepted, however, request may be faxed to (304) 480-6632. Receipt of faxed requests must be confirmed by calling (304) 480-6609. This requirement, by virtue of its dollar value, is set aside for small business. Small, small disadvantaged, and women-owned businesses are encouraged to respond. However, if an insufficient number of small business concerns respond with technically acceptable offers at fair and reasonable prices, the small business setaside may be dissolved. Those vendors which responded to the Bureau's RFI, as synopized in the March 28, 1996 CBD will automatically receive a copy of this RFQ and need not reapply. See Numbered Note(s): 1. (0212)
