Stephens at (301) 344-3126 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, intends to negotiate solely with Aspen Technology, Ten Canal Park, Cambridge, MA 01241, to renew the lease of the software package entitled ASPENPLUS with Model Manager and the Bioprocessor or with Model Manager for the period of one year with four (4) one year options under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This software package is used to perform engineering cost analysis a no sizing calculations. The package is capable of simulating unit operations found in the chemical industries an in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The ASPENPLUS software has flowsheeting capabilities that includes equations, physical property data, sizing and cost estimation data for all engineering unit operations as well as for the food pharmaceutical industries through the BIOPROCESS simulator option. Modules are included for membrane processes, fermentation processes, and conventional separation processes such as distillation. The package also permits the user to insert their own process models. Interested firms should provide information indicating they can meet these requirements within 15 days after publication of this notice.
