842-6635 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
contemplates awarding a contract for Patent Prosecution and Ancillary
Services for the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at CDC. Pursuant to
the Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986 (FTTA) and the National
Technology Transfer and Advancement Act of 1995 (NTTAA), CDC has
implemented a technology transfer program that includes collaborative
research ventures with the health care industry and expanded efforts to
patent and license inventions with commercial potential. The TTO
handles patent prosecution for all of CDC. The inventions claimed in
the patent portfolio fall generally into the following research
categories: AIDS, infectious diseases, immunology and immunosciences,
genetic engineering, mechanical devices and methods related to
occupational prevention and safety, research tools, and
bioinstrumentation. The scheduled issue date for the RFP is
approximately August 23, 1996. Interested firms with the requisite
skill and experience may make a written request for the RFP; NO
