COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 1,1996 PSA#1649FAA MMAC, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS Effective April 1,
1996, the FAA implemented the FAA's Acquisition Management System (AMS)
which replaced the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as the
governing policy for effecting acquisitions for the FAA. This action
was a direct result of the FY96 Department of Transportation
Appropriations Act. Based on the policies and guiding principles of the
AMS, the MMAC has elected to utilize the Internet as the primary mode
for making public announcements, as required over $50,000. Vendors
interested in MMAC acquisitions are hereby notified that Contracting
Officers may utilize the Internet, trade journals, the CBD, or other
media as appropriate, to reach the target audience. The types of
acquisitions conducted by the MMAC include products, services, and
construction in support of the National Airspace System (NAS), support
of flight inspection aircraft, aircraft registration and regulation,
air traffic, technical training, medical research, safety training and
support, management training, real estate, and other support as
required by organizations located at or supported by the MMAC. The
Internet web page will become active on July 22, 1996. The address is

through the Office of Acquisition, FAA, Washington DC home page which
can be accessed under Other Links to the FAA MMAC home page. It is also
