Kiely, Contract Specialist, 202/435-6940 The U.S. Secret Service has a requirement to purchase current full production submachine guns that meet the following specifications: (a) size: length of no more than 20 inches with retractable/telescopic retracted and a length of no more than 26 inches with the retractable/telescopic stock extended; (b) weight: no more than 7.5 pounds without magazine; (c) chambered for 9mm Luger cartridge and capable of semi-automatic and fully automatic fire; (d) barrel and chamber specifications conforming to Sporting Arms Ammunition Manufacturers Institute (SAAMI) specifications; and (e) shoulder mounted, magazine-fed with a telescoping or folding buttstock. The submachine guns shall be supplied with 4 magazines having a minimum capacity of 20 rounds and a maximum of 40 rounds. The trigger group shall be safe, seim-automatic and fully automatic. The 9mm submachine guns must be available for purchase in large quantities and delivery to Beltsville, Maryland. The resultant contract will be requirements contract for a term not to exceed sixty months. Delivery schedule shall be within 90 days of issuance of an order under the awarded contract. Release of the solicitation is anticipated to be within 30 days of this notice. All responsible sources may submit a proposal for consideration.
