Air Logistics Center (SM-ALC) is seeking to identify sources of supply
that can provide Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR), to replace Model
A100-A, NSN: 5835-01-128-7757. The CVR will be used in at least
aircraft C-130s, C-141s, C-5A&B, C-17s, and E-3s. The CVRs shall need
to be currently certified to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Technical Standard Order (TSO) TSO-C123. The CVR system equipment
individual items shall have no larger valued power requirement than
that required for the currently fielded COTS product Fairchild Aviation
Div. Model A-100A CVR system equipment corresponding item. Do not
disturb weapon system equipment power budget considerations. The
aircraft AC electrical system is 400 Hz 115 VAC. The Model A100A power
constraint is 115 VAC, 400 Hz., 50 W maximum with 20 W maximum normal
operation mode. Alternative optional accessory Inverter Power Supply
shall be available. This option shall be for aircraft systems that
operate on 28 volts DC (VDC). The power supplied form 28 VDC shall
supply 21 (Watts) W maximum normal operation power with an inverter
conversion to the 115VAC required CVR system operating voltage
requirement. The currently fielded Control Unit power requirement is
+18 VDC. The CVR system equipment shall not exceed the weight limits
specification for the currently fielded Model A- 100A CVR system
equipment. The requirement for memory storage media shall be Flash
Memory (Solid State Non-Volatile Memory). Additional information are
available to further describe the CVR system. Companies interested in
this survey are encouraged to request technical specification data by
contracting the Dept. of the Air Force, SM-ALC/BC, Attn: Mike Aita,
