The HIV amplification system must be a completely self-contained viral detection system with built-in anti-contamination technology using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) process. A three year contract will be awarded. It is believed that pursuant to U.S. patents awarded to Roche Diagnostics that this is a sole source procurement. See Note 22. (0213)
