and Law Enforcement Affairs, Department of State, Washington, D.C., is
seeking an individual to serve as Senior Advisor on Counterdrug
Strategy and Operations to provide strategic advice, define, elaborate
and coordinate statements of comprehensive integrated strategies for
USG activities against all aspects of illicit drug production,
trafficking and abuse, on global, regional or individual country basis.
Domestic and foreign travel may be required. The individual will be
subject to State Department Security Clearance at the Top Secret level.
Qualifications/Evaluation Criteria include: college graduate, academic
background or other experience in international relations, policital
science, history, law; Ten or more years experience in diplomatic,
military or law enforcement activities relating to drug control abroad;
direct management responsibility for more than one significant
International Narcotics Control program in drug source countries;
participation in definition of one or more national drug control
strategies; substantive knowledg, experience in planning and management
of operational, material, management and financial aspects of military,
paramilitary, intelligence, law enforcement, crop eradication and
reduction activities for drug control purposes, by USG and
corresponding foreign government agencies; diplomatic or law
enforcement experience in negotiations and implementation of United
States law enforcement interests, other than those limited to drug
control, in relations with foreign countries; fluency in English,
Spanish at least at the Foreign Service Institute S-3/R-3 level, and
preferably at least one other international language; prior working
experience with ONDCP, USIA, DOD, DEA, CIA, AID, and other USG agencies
concerned with planning and implemenation of drug control strategies on
a U.S. national, global, regional or individual country basis is
