The work involves construction of a new 47,000 square foot gymnasium and the demolition of two existing gymnasiums containing approximately 22,000 square feet of constructed space. In addition to the new construction, the project includes the relocation of existing overhead utility services to underground in the project area, installation of site drainage, site grading, site lighting, and landscaping. This work is to be performed at the Gary Job Corps Center located in San Marcos, Texas. Construction time is scheduled for 396 calendar days to substantial completion. The estimated cost range for construction is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. A deposit of $150.00 is required for the plans and specifications. Plans and specifications shall be available on or about August 20, 1996, only from the Office of Barnes Architects, 1411 West Sixth Street, Austin, Texas 78746. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee for duplication and handling is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid Walk-thru is scheduled for September 11, 1996, at 2:00 P.M. local time.
