65 -- STANDING ORDER FOR SUPPLIES TO PERFORM IDENTIFICATION AND SENSITIVITY TESTING ON SPECIMENS SOL N0016897RCOL046 DUE 081496. POC Contracting Officer, Sandra A. Musgrove, 301/285-6754. The National Naval Medical Center has a requirement for the Microbiology Branch, Laboratory Medicine Department. NNMC intends to award a sole sourced standing order to BioMerieux Vitek for the delivery of test cards to perform identification and sensitivity testing on patient specimens. BioMerieux Vitek manufactures the only test cards to be used with their 240/IMS system which enables the laboratory to perform these tests. The following items will be procured: (1) Forty-eight (48) pkgs Cat# V1305 GPI Cards (Gram Positive Identification), twelve pkgs to be delivered quarterly; (2) One hundred fifty-six (156) pkgs Cat# V1306 GNI Cards (Gram Negative Identification), thirty-nine (39) pkgs to be delivered quarterly; (3) Two hundred sixty-eight (268) pkgs Cat# V4500 GNS-100 Cards (Gram Negative Susceptability), sixty-seven (67) pkgs to be delivered quarterly; (4) One hundred sixty (160) Cat# V4503 GPS-100 Cards (Gram Positive Susceptability), forty (40) pkgs to be delivered quarterly. Award will be made in the form of a purchase order for a base year period of one (1) year effective 1 October 1996 through 30 September 1997 with one (1) year option. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Award will be contingent upon availability of FY97 funding. (213)
