The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement for two (2) solid state conversion units within one (1) cabinet that converts 3-phase A.C. electrical power into variable D.C. power to control the armature and field of two D.C. motors (Model No. K708, P/N A23223, Avtron Manufacturing, Inc., Independence, OH), Brand Name or Equal. The conversion units shall consist of: (a) One (1) Power Supply Cabinet that contains two (2) conversion units, including hardware for interfacing motors to drives and drives to facility power (b) One (1) control panel workstation for operator control of conversion units. Two (2) complete sets of operator handbooks and two (2) complete sets of interconnecting wiring diagrams/material lists are required. Contractor shall have up to four days on-site and shall be responsible for the installation check, fine tuning, and performance testing to prove conformance of the control unit to the specification. Since the D.C. motors are installed on an existing AMAD Test Stand, the conversion units shall be fully capable of integrating into the existing space and electrical wiring with a minimum amount of control wiring and mechanical alteration.
