70 -- UPGRADE OF AN EXISTING PERTHEN PROFILOMETER SYSTEM SOL 52SBNB6C9239 DUE 091896 POC Marsha Rodgers (301)975-6398 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Mahr Corporation, Cincinnati, Ohio, for an upgrade to an existing Perthen Profilometer System. The upgrade shall include the following: Perthometer Concept Roughness and Contour II package, mini-tower 166 Mhz Pentium PC computer with 1G Hard Drive, 17'' SVGA monitor, Windows V3.11 Operating System, HP 855C Deskjet Color Printer,Roughness and Countour II software modules and documentation package, cable, CV200 Drive Unit, Calibration Set, Measuring Stand PST-Ve, Angular Ajustment Fixture, Mounting Device for CV200 Drive Unit, Mounting Device for PRK Drive Unit, and Safety Joint Adapter for Skid Tracing--F.O.B. Destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland--Required Delivery Time days--This is a sole source requirement because the Perthen profilometer system, which is a product of the Mahr Corporation, is a unique system that is not electronically or mechanically compatible with profilometer systems manufactured by other vendors. The Mahr Corporation is the only vendor that has the component parts, manufacturing facilities, and trained personnel available to make the required upgrade. -- See Note 22 (0214)
