J -- REBUILD AND UPGRADE OF HILL ROM MODEL 840 BEDS TO MODEL 8400 SPECIFICATIONS SOL N0016896RC0R730 DUE 081596. POC Contracting Officer, Sandra A. Musgrove, 301/295-6754. The National Naval Medical Center intends to award a sole sourced purchase order to Hill Rom for the rebuilding and upgrade of fifty (50) Model 840 beds to Model 8400 specifications. Work specifications include stripping and replacing with new parts; all motors, PC boards, casters, panels, brake mechanisms, side rails, wiring, power cord and nurse call panel. Process includes washing, sanding, painting, reassembly and inspection. Beds must carry a full 3-year warranty (excluding preventive maintenance) and all parts used in the rebuilding process must be made available as replacement parts for approximately 15 years. This is not an acquisition for spare parts. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Award will be contingent upon availability of funds. (213)
