Z -- DESIGN/BUILD ROOF REPLACEMENT - BUFFALO, NY PROCESSING & DISTRIBUTION CENTER SOL 082530-96-A-0157 DUE 090496 POC Bennett Levine, Edgewater Services Co., Ltd., (315) 471-4420. This solicitation will be a fixed price design/build contract to rip off the existing roofing system, to deck, and replace with an approved 20-year warranty, built-up roofing system. Contractor shall be responsible for the development of contract documents, stamped by a New York State Licensed Architect or Engineer. Contractor shall also be responsible for all project phases, including but not limited to, implementation and adherence to OSHA Guidelines, temporary weather protection, coordination with USPS personnel, flashings, curbs, copings, caulking, roof drain modifications, mechanical/electrical modifications, tie-ins to existing roofing system (which will remain), walkpads, sheet metal, blocking and coordination and management of the asbestos abatement contractor. The construction cost for the project is valued between $1,750,000 and $2,150,000, with completion required within 120 calendar days afer receipt of Notice to Proceed. Offeror must be experienced in design/build work and primarily engaged in roofing work and, in addition, shall have satifactorily completed at least three prior projects comparable in size and scope to the work required by this solicitation. A preproposal conference has been scheduled for August 12, 1996 @ 10:00 a.m. at the Buffalo Processing & Distribution Center, 1200 William St., Buffalo, NY 14240-9997. Solicitation packages will be available on or about August 2, 1996, at a cost of $50.00 per set (non-refundable) from Mr. Bennett Levine at the firm of Edgewater Services Company, Ltd., 323 East Willow St., Suite 201, Syracuse, NY 13203-1980 (315) 471-4420. All checks/money orders must be made payable to ''Disbursing Officer, USPS.'' Cash will not be accepted. Since this is a negotiated solicitation, offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received,the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative standing of the offer will not be disclosed to anyone except those postal personnel whose official duties require such information until award of contract is made.
