70 -- COMPUTER OUTPUT MICROFILM UNIT DUE 081996 POC Marcia Friedman Katz Tel: (410) 965-9477 The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to acquire from Anacomp Incorporated's GSA Schedule a XFP 2000-Mod 3, XF23, 1 each consisting of the following: Main Unit rated at approximately 400 ppm, 16MB fiche buffer, 40MB Hard Disk w/Magnetic Tape Cartridge Backup, 120 dpi selectable, w/42X lens, & 2400 baud Modem, P/N XF23; On-Line Interface with bus and tag cable included, P/N W010; Unprocessed 105mm Roll output configured, P/N W065; Additional 24X lens, P/N W24X; Epson Dot Matrix Printer, P/N W630; On-Line Output Management S/W, P/N 736X; 16mm Standard & Hi-Speed capability on the same system, P/N W072. Software must be compatible with the current system. Additional 16mm Supply Canister (W646) and 16mm Take-up Canister (W645) required. The only known source for this equipment is Anacomp Incorporated. This equipment will be installed in the Metro West Building in Baltimore, Maryland. Interested schedule and nonschedule vendors who can provide the mentioned equipment are invited to submit in writing a substantial statement clearly demonstrating their ability to provide the equipment, GSA contract number (if appropriate) and prices. Written responses must be received in this office at the address above within 15 calendar days after this publication. Responses should reference synopsis number MFK-7708. This is not a formal solicitation document. However, information submitted will be used in SSA's assessment of capable sources. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended schedule vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation.
