Executive Blvd., Rm. 638, Bethesda, Maryland 20892 D -- OPTOMAX DOMINO IMAGE ANALYZER SOL RFQ-NCI-60105(NQ) DUE 082696
POC Cynthia Brown, Purchasing Agent, (301) 402-4509, Trish Haun,
Contracting Officer, (301) 402-4509. The National Inst. of Health,
National Cancer Inst. intends to procure Domino Image Analyzer from
Optomax, 9 Ash Street, P.O. 840, Hollis, NH 03049. The Institute is
investigating the effectiveness of several cancer vaccines in phase 1
clinical trials. One of the parameters for these studies is determining
the antigen-specific T-cell precursor frequency in the peripheral blood
lymphocytes in pre- and post immunized patients. The assay to be used
is a filter immunoplaque assay, otherwise called the enzyme-linked
immunospot assay (ELISPOT). The sensitivity of the ELISPOT assay is
such that cells producing as few as 100 molecules of specific cytokine
per second can only be detected using the Domino Image Analyzer from
Optomax. This is not a request for competitive proposals, as no
solicitation will be issued. However, vendors who believe they can meet
the Government's requirement, may submit their qualifications. The
submission must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail so
that a determination can be made regarding meeting the Government's
requirement. The submission must be received by COB August 26, 1996.
