Owens (757) 322-4500, Additional Contact Viki Pond (757) 322-4474 The work includes demolition of the existing collimation tower, concrete masonry unit (CMU) signal tower building, and the concrete structure which supports the tower and building. All of the existing structures previously stated are located on the roof of Building W-143. Demolition includes existing mechanical and electrical services. The existing concrete support structure is in a state of severe deterioration and is a safety hazard. All demolition debris shall be removed from the roof via lifting equipment. Construction shall include a guardrail on the north side of the existing elevator penthouse and roof repairs to the existing tower storage building to remain and incidental related work. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 20 August 1996. A limited number of bid packages will be available and issued on a first come, first serve basis. A check or money order for $25.00 payable to the Treasury of the United States is required as a non-refundable charge for each set of bidding data. Written requests must be received in the office of the Officer in Charge of Construction no less than five (5) working days prior to bid opening if you want the bidding data mailed. If your check is received less than five (5) working days prior to bid opening, we will attempt to contact you and afford you the opportunity to pick up a bid package.
