865-3030 The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is completing its defense
weapons activities at the Mound Plant in Miamisburg, Ohio and intends
to begin negotiations with the Miamisburg Mound Community Improvement
Corporation (MMCIC) regarding the sale, under Section 161g of the
Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, 42 U.S.C. 2201(g), and
productive reuse of the real property and facilities located at the
plant site. Transfer of title to real property parcels is expected to
commence in 1997. The MMCIC is recognized by DOE as the Agent of the
City of Miamisburg responsible for the transitioning of facilities,
equipment, infrastructure and real estate to the private sector for
purposes of economic development and conversion. The Mound Plant is
located in the southwest corner of Miamisburg, Ohio approximately ten
miles south-southwest of Dayton and 31 miles north-northeast of
Cincinnati, Ohio, and approximately four miles west of Interstate I-75.
The Plant is on approximately 306 acres and is currently operated by
EG&G Mound Applied Technologies under contract with DOE. The 306 acres
that comprise the entire Mound Plant property are industrially zoned.
Pursuant to the Federal Facility Agreement under CERCLA Section 120,
the DOE remains responsible for the environment legacy from past
operations, and is in the process of remediation. The north portion of
the site is comprised of approximately 181 acres and contains the 122
structures located at the plant. These include a steam generating
station, an independent water supply and waste water treatment
facilities. There is approximately 370,000 square feet of office space,
111,000 square feet of warehouse space, 779,000 square feet of
industrial/technical space and 83,000 square feet of miscellaneous
building space for a total of 1,345,000 square feet of gross building
area. The southern portion of the property is comprised of 123
unimproved acres and has access to both the adjacent north plant
property and to state and local roads. Expressions of interest in the

this is to create a ''potential client'' data base. All respondents
will receive a site brochure and pertinent information relating to
