BETTER PUBLIC DECISION'' The General Accounting Office will hold its
Tenth Technical Conference and Exposition on October 23 & 24, 1996 in
Washington, DC. The General Accounting Office (GAO) is the
investigative arm of Congress. GAO is a sophisticated user of
Information Technology that relies on modern IT tools to aid in its
audits, analyses, investigations and evaluations of Federal Agencies
and Programs. GAO is charged with evaluating other Federal Agencies
utilization of IT resources. Because of this function, members of
Congress and other policy-makers rely on GAO reports in authorizing IT
